Course Description: This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to coach beginning and intermediate level YMCA competitive swimmers. The content includes proper stroke technique, starts, turns, workout design, season planning, and physiology. Successful completion of a written examination is required for certification.
Prerequisites: • Minimum age 18 • Principles of YMCA Competitive Swimming and Diving certification • Current YMCA Lifeguard or YMCA Aquatic Safety Assistant (YASA), AED, and Oxygen Administration certifications must be maintained • Current CPR—including adult, child, infant, and two-rescuer CPR and obstructed airway maneuver • Current first-aid certification Bring: Proof of age and proof of prerequisite certifications. |
